| POI Learn the art of Poi. Spinning and dancing with POI helps to increase range of motion, flexibility and strength, improves balance and coordination; plus it's Fun! All levels welcome! Mondays 6:30-7:30pm Mixed Level POI Focus: history, warm ups, exercise, transitions, poi moves, body movements, partner moves, and structure. This is a no-fire class. Bring your practice poi and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. | Fire Dance... The Ecstatic Fire Flow Fire Dance is a unique type of shamanic dance, with it's own unique geometry and language. Fire Safety is taught first. Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm Alley between 22nd and 23rd and G and H; Midtown Focuses on safety and learning the art of fire dance. Class involves learning choreography, ecstatic, sacred fire dance both with fire and without, as well as how to perform the art, fire toy making, and costuming. Beginners will be guided along the process by learning safety first, followed by the moves and routines, and then adding fire when the timing is appropriate. Those already skilled at the art may join at the appropriate level. $25 a lesson $85 for the month if prepaid on the first class of the month (Poi and Fire Dance combined, $150 month) *will be added costs of fuels, safety equipment, insurance, and fire toys |
